monthly bonding: dodgeball
It's a crisp autumn morning, and students may be excited or disappointed to learn they've been excused from class today in favor of some light physical activity...
Dinah meets the freshmen cohort at eight A.M. sharp at Strixhaven Stadium this morning. Wreathed in morning fog and eerily still, the Stadium is no less grand for its emptiness. Dinah, on the other hand, is annoyingly peppy and full of energy even at this early Monday hour. She is accompanied by a inkling named Doco who always looks slightly concerned. They have a couple large buckets full of multi-colored balls as well as black and white jerseys which they distribute to the freshmen cohort to split them into to two teams.
Dinah explains in her unnecessarily chipper way that today you'll all be playing dodgeball! The balloon-like dodgeballs explode on impact into plumes of brightly-colored pigments (in ruby red, electric teal, deep pine green, pale gold, and cosmic black). She says they were designed by Rosie Wuzfeddlims... and they seem a little familiar. Hmmm.
After the game is over, Doco delivers a picnic brunch to the freshmen cohort, and they can enjoy fresh croissants, hot apple cider, and mini quiches together on the stadium field before heading off for their afternoon classes.

RULES
🦉 While the regulation Mage Tower field is quite large, a smaller area has been magically cordoned off for the dodgeball game. The cordons glow with Dinah's pale green magic, and gently propel players and balls that hit them back towards the center of the play area.
🦉 Rosie's magical dodgeballs do not hurt no matter how hard they've been thrown, and the glitter they produce has been fine-tuned to wear off after a few hours or a good shower. They're also a little sturdier than water balloons, and are easy to catch without breaking them.
🦉 This is a no-holds-barred game of dodgeball and magic is allowed, so go ahead and get creative!
🦉 If you get hit with a dodgeball, you're out. If you throw a dodgeball and someone else catches it, you're out. The team with the last man standing wins, and the last three players standing get a small prize.
🦉 To participate, fill out the form posted below before Tuesday October 11 at 2pm Pacific time. At that time, I'll roll results to see which team wins and who the last three players standing are.
🦉 However, if you'd like to say your character got taken out by somebody specific, you can do that too! They'll just be removed from the running for the prize pool.
